7 Trigonometric ratios on the calculator
There are numerous different types of units that an angle can be measured, degrees being one such option. Before using the calculatorto discover the values of the trigonometric proportions of angles in degrees, you must ensure that it is set to utilize the right units.
Always make sure that Your calculatoris using the correct angle measurement prior to using trigonometric ratios.
It is likely that your calculatoris setting to make use of degrees when the indicator for display
is shown on the upper right hand corner of your screen. If you see the display indicator
or
that it appears, it means that your calculator can be set to employ different types of units for measuring angles.Figure 9 shows the setting for degrees.
To set your calculator into working with degrees, make use of keys

(Deg).
To calculate the sine cosine, tangent or sine of an angle press the
,
or
key and then enter the dimensions of the angle. Take note that
,
and
keys automatically create a bracket automatically for you. If you're just calculating the cosine, sine or tangent of an angle, just tap
after making the calculation and there is absolutely no requirement to close your bracket. If you're using these ratios as part of an overall calculation that you want to calculate, you'll need to make sure you close the bracket yourself (by press
) before you enter the remainder of the calculation.
Some older models of calculator need the angle to be entered first, then and then the
